Let's take your latter first -- I did mention that going to the larger power tubes would probably not be the best way to keep your luscious midrange -- you'd in all likelihood gain more bottom end and power with those tubes; but, you already have the sweetest midrange power tubes in your amps. The stock EL34's.

If you want just a tad bit more but keep the midrange KT77's would be the ticket IMO and not the Tung Sols.

Additionally, one step further, PrimaLuna suggests changing out the front two gain tubes (12AU7's). YMMV.

That's all. No harm, no foul (intended).

Now onto the pre comment. You make it sound like I'm a beneficiary of a subscriber enrollment drive -- the more I muster from member to subscribership, the fatter my wallet. Far from it (I get zero BTW; like any other encourager).

I only mentioned it for awareness and also to support the site in which you apparently have been happy to be apart of. Whether you elect to become a subscriber after 6 years is totally up to you, but you need not be snobbish and rude about my attempt to casually bring it to your attention.

You'd be surprised how much Ivan spends (and Richard's time) on this site for the software, malware, phishing & other types of security related software to keep the site secure for all of us. Safe, reliable and a joy to spend time on and not having to be worried of clicking a link and the low life's & deviants now have you in their grip; making your personal & financial day or days pure hell. You'd be surprised to know how many daily hacks the expensive security & their due diligence thwarts 24x7.

So, I'll be man enough and say I apologize; but, this site doesn't run 24x7 on autopilot.

Best Sir,

Bib
