Fantastic speakers - sound even better if you replace the internal cabling (which is VDH & awful) with Neotech 14 gauge copper (LF), and 20 gauge silver (HF) & upgrade the binding posts (I used WBT nextgen 0710 silver binding posts ) . I did both of these things with my Tannoy Canterbury's (1989 vintage) & the results are jaw-dropping, pushing the speaker closer to the SE model. Total cost was under NZD$1000 (about $650 USD).

Im also a big fan of adding Tannoy Super-tweeters- IMHO lift the sound past the SE Model!
Is there a difference between Westminster and Westminster Royal? The reason I ask is because I've seen pictures of the Royal and the nameplate on the bottom of the speakers say Westminster Royal. The ones my father in law has only say Westminster on the nameplate.

Thanks for the tip on the cable upgrades. Will have to consider that in the future!

He set them up and listened to them for a couple hours and decided that he couldn't let them go!
