Very rich character development and a lot of cultural themes around native Americans. And the cinematography is exceptional. The supporting cast of Katee Sackhoff as "Vic", Bailey Chase as Branch Connelly, Adam Bartley as "The Ferg", his deputies, Lou Diamond Philips as Walt's childhood friend, Henry Standing Bear, Cassidy Freeman as Cady, his attorney daughter, A Martinez as Jacob Nighthorse, and Zahn McClarnon as Matthias, the "sheriff" for the "Res" contrbute a LOT to the very rich character development in this series. I love all these characters...
Just as a teaser, Walt, the sheriff, finds out in the first episode that his deputy, Branch Connelly, is running against him in an upcoming county election. It just gets better from there....
