If I find the right switch (4k, HDMI 2.0, etc.) that would also eliminate the need for the 4k board upgrade on the SP3.
This is what I do. We use the OPPO as the AVR. Someday the SP3, but today the OPPO 205 does pretty well.
I use an older Kinovo 4-by-1 switch. Although it is not rated for 4K, it does work with 4K. All our HDMI cables are 4K rated so that may be the reason. Apparently the Kinovo electronics has bandwidth to spare. Monoprice has some newer switches.
