Freestone...what's your budget for the living room system. If you want to stick with SF speakers, do you want only monitors or can you consider floorstanders as well? My sense is an integrated amp maybe with onboard DAC and SF speakers will result in a very streamlined and WAF-approved system for the LR.
For the integrated amp, I would suggest Bryston's new integrated amp: B-135. Quick specs on this: 135wpc into 8ohm and 180wpc into 4ohms. You can get the option DAC module to make it an all-in-one unit. Here is a pic:
