Stylus cleaning with a brush is only recommended to be performed moving gently from back to front, so that any force affected upon the stylus cantilever assembly is in the same direction as would be by playing a record. This product when positioned on the plinth as shown, the arm moving across it would apply force in a perpendicular direction and could result in damage to delicate cartridges. If you're considering using such a device I'd strongly suggest checking with your cartridge manufacturer to see if it is advised.
