(Thanks. I hadn't realized the abbreviation. But this forum is quite the opposite idea to the other AA, I suppose.)

Back to the DSD question.
James' answer to Kal's question answers another question by me.

I asked this because I have a Primare BD32 (a Oppo 93 based blu ray player) which can officially give out information in the DSD format (like all players of this kind). But one can't take it for granted that an Oppo 93 based player can makes use of all options. E.g. the Primare BD32 hasn't a variable volume output (although the Oppo/Primare setup menu states it).

I am not sure if it would be an advantage if the BD32 could receive DSD. I only know that DSD information is on SACD's.
If the BD32 could accept it wouldn't that mean that I could choose where to let the conversion taking place: in the player or in the BD32 - and choose the one which sounds best probably.

Is this right?
