I recently got an AppleTV - even on an ancient ADSL2+ connection which tops out at 12-14Mbps - I am getting 4K playback from Amazon Prime and Netflix and I have to say - they look spectacular.
With 4K and either HDR or Dolby Vision - the video quality is definitely better than any 1080p BluRay - and comes very very close to my UHD discs.
Audio isn't as good - Apple is only delivering 5.1 for now but Atmos is on the cards.
My TV apps (on my Sony ZD9 and LG C7) also stream the same Netflix/Amazon but on the same internet connection take a lot longer to reach UHD.
