I completely agree that great hearing is the penultimate audio upgrade. In addition to keeping the ear canal as free from debris as possible, do not forget about hearing loss. Age related hearing loss is inevitable, but if one is experiencing intermittent hearing loss or ringing(tinnitus) it would be wise to consult an audiologist for a hearing examination. In addition to age related hearing loss, one must be aware of noise induced hearing loss from exposure to loud sound. Therefore, keep the sound system volume adjusted at a reasonable level and double check the sound intensity from time to time with a sound decibel meter.
