With great hopes after a front end rebuild and spruced up motor, we recently competed in another Lemons race at Carolina Motor Sports park in Kershaw SC.

We made it into the afternoon with 69 laps and were competing with solid lap times. Then while starting my entry into turn 8, the motor blew up.

We had had some machine shop work done at a suspect shop due to time constraints and that proved to be our undoing. The valve guide worked on was not correct and a valve shaft snapped sending the valve into the cylinder. The valve head ended up implanted in the head and the piston, bent and looking like this. We are too heartbroken and have not torn the motor down yet. Praying the crank etc are still okay.

Fun race in any event.
