I did this with my dad's old trumpet a number of years ago.
I am glad I did and I am glad he got to see it. Seeing it restored made him happy.
It is 1918 Holton Trumpet. My dad was a 1919 model. I promised that I would post of picture of it on AA, but it needs a little cleaning. I will as soon as the cleaning is complete.
You will gain a lot of satisfaction of the restoration!
