Not unusual for them to have to give up control for the capital. Once they do, and the new majority owners, who know little about the marque and its history and could actually care less, decide they don't want to maintain the marque (they care only for money) they then force out the original owner/founder and do things like turn to China for their production. Classe in Canada is another shining example of now made in China, though am unsure if the original owner(s) are involved.

I say boycott the companies that take the production to China. There are plenty of Canadian, American and European companies that continue to build in house products. Support these companies.
