Still comparing the two.
I did discover the MX123 uses the same HDMI board and wifi/BT board as the AV8805. Same part number and everything.
All the other boards are McIntosh. The MX123 description says it uses 32-bit premium DACs but doesn’t clarify which. Peaking inside it’s the same AKM AK4490 the AV8805 uses.
The MX123 does not appear to offer Audyssey Platinum suite like the 8805. I think it’s missing out on Audyssey Dynamic Sub EQ HT? I need to spend more time with it.
