Man, we are going WAY back here, and I don't think anyone will consider this high end, but back in the 60's I remember getting a set of AR speakers and thinking they were awesome. AR & KLH were a big deal for lots of people back then --- however I would agree, not high end. For my budget, they seemed pretty desirable. That level of equipment was a classic introduction into decent sound for the time. Later, a lot of us moved on to better stuff.
