Some do hear the noise some not but i am sure that all of the Summit will have that problem. A technical expert, user of the same system here in Germany explained me the origin would be the cheap class D amplification of the bass segment.
I really like my Summit X, just ask for curiosity.

Karl, I hear a slight sound like a whisper when I place my ear against the grill. Never knew it did that until you told me. Not worried about it as it has nothing to do with the awesome music playing from the Summit Xs!
