I so rarely listen to anything via computer that I'd forgotten about their speakers and haven't hooked up the pair of HK computer speakers in many years. Guess I'll dig them out of the storage bin.

Anyway, back to the Schiit.
Now that I've gotten some 'run-time' on and have been very pleased with the Valhalla2 and have a Saga inbound, am starting to think DAC. Was thinking Bifrost multibit, but am wondering if starting with a Gungnir would be a step-up. Then Gumby, at some future date. I'm still very 'iffy' on how much of this 'digital stuff' I'll listen to, so wish to limit my up-front cost. Also, one of my primary reasons for the Bifrost is size, as it will be part of my 'travel kit' for listening while we are away.
My reply was to to your original question how to hook up a DAC to a computer, not a suggestion that you listen to computer speakers. If you are looking for a portable travel solution, there are headphone amps with built in DACs which makes it even more portable. Schiit Jutenheim and Lyr 3 tube are such products. I use Audeze Deckard myself.
