That is what I thought as well, and asked about this a few months ago. That is when they told me that the room needed the window.
Fast forward to today. Inspired by your post, I emailed the builder directly this morning. Long story short, as the room will not have a closet, it does not need the window. Problem solved!!!
Moral of the story...never trust a sales rep. Go straight to the source.
