The 15" were the best of the series but they are an acquired taste. There is a cult following for all these Tannoys in the UK. They are very revealing.

IIRC these were Tannoy's first proper purpose-built studio monitors, so they were not designed for domestic hi-fi.

They were designed with power handling and efficiency in mind as they were monitors which would be EQd in an acoustically "dead" studio control room. I'd expect them to sound quite forward in a domestic listening room. The other limitation is that even the biggie - the SRM 15X - failed to get down much below 50Hz.

That said, they can work in a domestic environment. Adjusting the tweeter level control in small incremental stages is probably the way to go, but beware the treble roll-off which just kills the top end. They also benefit from being placed right up against the back wall.
