I packed up the Fortes in 1998 in their original cartons and kept them in the basement until just a couple of years ago. I would take them out every year or two and oil the cabinets and play them for a few minutes. My nephew graduated from University, got himself set up in his own apartment in Chicago, and now has them hooked up to an ARC SP9 and Rotel power amp. They sound pretty good; not as good as my 802D3s, but livable. And for him, the price was right.
