Good points, Kenny. The GN is certainly beautiful. For me the Rega would still win out because 1) I think the ceramic platter is a superior material to POM; the RB-3000 arm has many more years of development behind it, and 3) I don’t think anyone is making the level of “zero tolerance” main bearings that Rega is (this bearing came out of an 18 month development effort with F1 engineering folks). Lastly, I know the Rega will be incredibly DURABLE, which for me is an important quality attribute. Lastly, I wish companies would stop using the term “dampening” when they mean “damping”. To dampen is to make something moist; “damping” is to attenuate vibration and resonances.
