For your room (which I've seen) I believe you are better off with a wide baffle design (i.e. the Elipsas or the Strads). But I'd definitely experiment with subs before getting rid of your wonderful Elipsas.
I'd recommend 2 subs to help you deal with room modes - and make sure that you get to audition them before buying them. I tried several before finding the Rel T2s, one of the cheaper ones I tried to be the best match for the Homage.
Serge (and many others) are big fans of JL Audio - and don't forget that Sonus Faber also makes a sub. It was too big for me, but I would have strongly considered it otherwise.
