I think it should be.
I know the local community college
had a fantastic, fully equipped machine shop and offered courses in machine tool technology with a very comprehensive program. They dropped it because of lack of interest and sold all the equipment at auction. Broke my heart.
I'm thinking and hoping that with a new emphasis on manufacturing in this country we will see a resurgence of hand skill development and interest in making things. Kids with that natural inclination need a place and teachers to expose them to the possibilities.
