I was fooling around one day, looking at Craigslist, and saw a Nikon 24-70, F2.8 at a very reasonable price. I went to look at it, even though I had a DX camera (D7000).
Even on the D7000 it was impressive, so much so that I bought the 24-70, sold the D7000 and got a FX camera, D600.
Since then I got a 24-120, F4 which was more convenient when I was traipsing around China and Asia.
I am seriously looking at a 24mm, F1.8.
