Great question and a tough one to definitively answer. My conclusions in the review should be seen as a reaction to the Everest/Sigma XC combo. While I certainly heard a great many of the characteristics I described when I was using a Sigma NR, the Sigma XC absolutely brought the DTCD to another level. I’d think of Shunyata’s power cords as keys that unlock the Everest’s levels of potential. I would suspect that using a Venom HC with the Everest would only allow you access to the doorway of the lobby. I’m off the clock today, so my apologies to the analogy police. ;-)
