Default So you think Merdian digital is good?

I've been posting forever that Meridian reference gear leaves a lot on the table..limited oversampling, crappy filtering, moderate sonics

So, today I saw this quote from the designer of what is considered one of the worlds best dacs....

"So I had to measure a lot on at least a dozen DVD-A players from Denon, Meridan and so on.
Analyzing the Meridan player has shown, that the drive down- samples all original 192kHz tracks to 96kHz and feed this data stream to an Analog Devices DAC IC, which up-sampled the data stream again.
What a stupid implementation and that from a company, who was part of the standardisation with its MLP ( Meridian Lossless Packaging). You got more and useless signal processing than in a CD player."

Pretty telling I'd say....

I just don't get why Stuart develops all this great digital technology and then lets it be implemented in his products in such a poor fashion.
