Post Rascal and I went to the Vet yesterday see below for details ...

Hello,

Sorry everyone about not posting recently about Rascal.

Cathy and I have been somewhat concerned about him and therefore I have not posted recently.

But it is all over with now so I can bring everyone up to date.

Rascal was 8-Months old on the 10th of March.

That being the case it was time to take him to the Vet and have a few things done per instructions from his breeder Mickey C.

(1) It was time for him to be Neutered.

(2) At the same time since he would be asleep I had a "Micro-Chip" installed.

So I woke-up early and did not actually sleep all that well the night before to tell it like it really was.

Got on up and got ready and took his carrier down to the formal living room.
Much easier to take it outside from that exit than through multiple doors leading to the garage off the kitchen area.

Let me start from the beginning so you get the complete picture of events.

I actually got his very large carrier out of storage and placed it in the office up-stairs where Cathy & I are.
Well to my Surprise he goes inside it and checks it completed out as it's a new carrier so it has no scent of him in it yet.
Then he precedes to lay down and the next thing he curls and is taking a nap of all things.
It was like he had his own private cat condo. LOL !!!

So I had it up-stairs intentionally for days before he was actually going to be taking a short 20 minute trip in it to the Vet.

Well all seemed smooth with the carrier until ...............

The actual morning (Yesterday) when I took it downstairs in the living room next to the doors.
I could not catch Rascal guys to get hold of him to put him in the carrier.
He was all over the downstairs in every room.
And don't even think he is not Fast because he is super-Fast when he chooses to be.
It was if somehow he sensed something was up and he wanted no part of whatever it was.
I finally caught him on the tile floor in the hallway and got hold of his giant furry tail.
His paws were moving but on the tile he had no traction, thankfully.

So I pick him up and in the carrier he goes.
That was really not all that difficult as the carrier is pretty darn large with a big door.
Well as I close the door to it he Lurches at the door, he hits it several times, paws at the bottom of it,
makes sounds like we had never heard before.

Well Cathy takes a picture of me leaving with him.
He was making his pitiful cat sounds that honestly really got next to me.
I placed the carrier in the hatch area as it fit in there easily and could not move or jar around.
It was a very short drive to the local Vet from the house and for the most part he was silent after a few minutes.

We get to the Vet hospital and I take him in and as it turned out we were the only ones there it was early.
I filled out a few forms and the ladies there were checking him out in the carrier.
He was just curled up actually but would hiss at anyone approaching the front of the carrier door.

Well I leave him and they were going to call my cell as soon as he woke up from the ordeal and the anesthesia.
I get the call around 11:20 AM and the tech said it went A-OK and Rascal was slowly waking up and was just fine.
She said she would call me when it was time to come pick him up once he was totally awake for the most part.
I think that call came around 1PM and I drove over and picked him up and paid the charges.
They all loved the Big-Red-Boy.
He was just curled up lying in the carrier on the super Soft Pad I had purchased for it for him.
Heck of a lot better than the doggone plastic bottom that's for sure.
The pad was really nice and thick and very-very soft with nice round sides for him to lay against.

Well I have the pictures loaded in photobucket now so I'll post them below for you guys.

Oh Rascal is pretty much back to himself now ............

Here are some pictures of Rascal at 8 months old on March 10th 2017.
He weighed 13.6 Lbs.

Next are the pictures of the Vet Hospital ordeal.

I did make up a name tag and a Rascal Name Plate for the carrier.
Did not want any reason for them to not know who he was and who his parents were and how to get hold of us.

As I said there was no one else there when I arrived and that was just fine.

Back home and he Ran out of the Carrier after I sat it down and opened the door to it.

He went and looked in our room, then looked in the office where we were, lastly went in his room.

He went right under his (Safe-Place) as you will see but he could see us so he knew all was A-OK.

He came out a little later and got several small drinks.
Then I fed him some of his Favorite BFF Wet Meat Gourmet.
He ate some of it but not very much of it.

Then he came in a little later and I laid down a really thick towel and doubled it for him to lie on.
He was obviously still under the anesthesia and shaky on his feet.

Then a little later on and he was getting much more steady on his feet he decided to go check out the neighborhood.
The two picture are not very sharp as I used the Close-Up feature to take them with my Galaxy 7 smart phone.
I was actually standing on the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor and he was all the way down on the 1st floor.
Looking out the Front Door being a Snoop.

Now this is todays pictures of him.
He is much more Active today.
This is in the office where we both are.

These next two pictures is Rascal lying right behind my chair in the office.
As you can see he is very much back home and totally at ease.
Yes guys he is a lazy sometimes.

Okay below will be the Final pictures.
I got the mail yesterday and what do I see ?????????
A (Secret Squirrel) envelope.
It was from San Antonio, Texas another Maine Coon Kitten person by the name of ??????????
See picture for that information. LOL !!!

I never get tired of receiving and or sending the (Secret Squirrel) packages.

Tom Cochran as you can see I tried it out already and it works perfect !!!
Thank-You kind sir for thinking of Me & Rascal.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures and the story above,
Terry
