If you are staying long term with the MC452, I would suggest the C2300. Unless you are looking for a Pre with a DAC.

Yes, you were right. Totally admit it. As for pre, I really would prefer a one box prepro solution cuz my Salons and the mc452 are integrated into a HT system. That's why I mentioned the prepros above. If I went with a standalone pre (say to complement the mx150's digital only inputs), I would probably get the C50. Not for the dac, but because I want to stay SS (don't want to mess with tubes) and really like having tone controls. The C50 seems like a good mid-priced pre. I also like the Classe CP800 for its flexibility and great asynchronous USB implementation. Lastly, for bargain deal, I'd certainly look at the giant killer W4S STP-SE, and on higher end legend basis, maybe the ARC Ref 3 or 5 (ok, for this level, I would consider going tubes, hehe). But prepro is first priority, and hoping I can find a one box solution that ticks all the boxes
