My Yggdrasil DAC now has 845 hours of break-in and is now back in the living room sound system. I have continued to keep a digital signal applied to it since day one. This afternoon I was listening to the CD from Marcin Wasilewski Trio - Faithful. This is a well recorded ECM Records disc of piano, double-bass, and drums. The Yggdrasil portrayed the performance magnificently. All three instruments were fully developed and richly presented. The piano was crystal clear. Its diminishing notes hung so beautifully. The double-bass delivered a rich wood tone with deep definition and sustain to the notes. The drums revealed a remarkable clarity, striking dynamics, and cymbals had true metallic zest and lingering ring as they decayed. Like I said before, this DAC simply disappears. It is just me and the music. The Schiit Audio Yggdrasil is an outstanding digital to analog converter.
