Whether or not the DP-720 player is a good buy depends on how one looks at it. On one hand, if one compares it to the previous generation of Accuphase players, DP-720 is an updated DP-700 that costs only 2-3k more than DP-600 (in Europe DP-600 costed 15k while DP-700 22k). From this perspective, DP-720 is a very good buy. On the other hand, DP-720 can be seen as a very expensive player who is already dated. This because of its inability to play DSD files via usb.
Having said all this, I should also say that I am a proud DP-720 owner who is very happy with the unit (even though I do not sound like it).
