My MX160 has a volume limit option too. I think I can set the limit whatever I want it to be. I was under the impression it’s purpose it to protect against someone unfamiliar with system (kid, guest, etc) from cranking up the volume to full blast or inadvertently hitting remote in the dark and accidentally turning volume up to ear damaging, speaker/sub destroying levels.
