The Master Power 3+ is a three channel amp intended for use in 2.1 home theater, the Master Power 2+ is a two channel.
Using it in two channel mode should essentially be the same as a Classic Stereo, the main difference being the Master Power amps have switchable crossover filters to make biamping easier.
