They are using a proven room EQ system by Paradigm called PBK, parent company of Anthem ARC. It does much more work in the digital domain (like the highly respected Paradigm reference subs and Anthem preamps) than any simple analog filter could. You can turn off PBK but I think you will find the ADC-DSP-DAC is quite transparent (especially at such low frequencies) and much needed in any room. I wouldn't worry about the "unknown DAC" or whatever. It is not our concern these days.
