I noticed quite a large difference between these two preamps when listening to vinyl. Does your JA Michell (no 'e' btw ) have vertical tracking alignment (VTA)? This is a quick/easy adjustment on some turntables as a way to achieve more/less bass/treble if really needed. The price of the C500 range is getting closer to the C2300.... not that anyone on here would encourage anyone else to spend more money
