I'm rather late to the party but I am a VPI fan too. I started with an HW-19 JR that had some upgrades so I guess like a Mk II. Sold that and got an HW-19 Mk IV.

Next go was a DIY. I found a platter and bearing from a TNT and a VPI 300 RPM motor with a flywheel. I picked up an SMA 309 arm from a person I now know to be an AA. I took that stuff, some Bearpaw brass feet a drawing and a 100 lb slab of 6061-T6 aluminum that was 2" thick to a sympathetic machinist and had him carve it up in the style of a TNT.

I also ginned up a 2 phase motor controller that is frequency stable to 10 to the -7 / month, but that is a story for another time.
