I am resurrecting this thread from a year or so ago because I was so impressed by the way Grant (GrantS) explained in posts 8, 19 & 20 the necessity of fixing and addressing power issues first before moving onto speaker and interconnects (interconnects, IMO are the last in the chain or cabling to reap any benefit). Power is first and foremost. Get it right as he says and you've hit an infield triple. 
Yeah, I know -- another cable thread -- but as I've mentioned previously, a Shunyata King Cobra (V1) made myself and several of my friends believers when listening to my Esoteric DV50S many years ago (and in turn, I'm sure it helped with the monthly rent at "young" Shunyata  ).
