Unlike some other watches, Rolex does retain value and moves up in price.
Their movements are not great (sloppy workmanship) compared to others, but have worked for decades.
The lucky thing for collectors is most everyone, has heard of Rolex, which creates a demand and their price is within grasp of most people if you buy used.
Other uber end watches, are not so well known by the public and not within $ grasp.
Which makes for a tougher fire sale...to pay for college.

An example, find a good deal/steal on a used Daytona Rolex, and you will have an asset, which will gain value as soon as you put it on your wrist.
