I've had somewhat the opposite experience. I have some CD's that are ripped and stored via JRiver and have found Hi Rez versions of the same albums on Qobuz. I find the Hi Rez versions of the same albums on Qobuz to sound noticeably better than the CD rip. My CD files are all AIFF and not compressed in any way. Two alums that I have compared quite extensively are; 1) Tideschi Trucks Band - "Revelator" and 2) Chirs Isaaks - "Heart Shaped World". Both have more texture, body and detail via the HR file on qobuz.
