The platter is POM because it's a better material than acrylic for platters.
It's probably a decent turntable, but you'd likely pay less for the Clearaudio equivalent.
Also, I'd expect it would be next to impossible to sell used if you ever decided to.

Yeah, probably wise on their part to have it built by CA. I'm not so sure it would be that hard to sell if it was priced reasonably, but I do see taking a bigger hit in price reduction than one of their higher end TTs.
