David - that’s a great looking room! Very Floridian. Love it.

It also has a lot of hard surfaces like tile floors, a wall of windows, etc. I think the back wall is just visible on the right in the picture. If so your couch is in a main null point for bass. I think will take quite a bit of fiddling with speaker and furniture placement and maybe a sub to get the sound you are used to.

The smaller room might be better for music as you’ll get a lot of bass reinforcement from the back wall. I’ve run small monitors in a room like yours and had awesome results. You’ll want to consider some diffusion and absorption on the back wall of that room, of course done with full waf!!
