It varies:
- The C5xe/C5xeMP used a Pioneer universal DVD transport that Ayre modified to increase its rigidity.
- The CX-7/7e uses a DVS DVD-ROM drive.
- The DX-5 DSD started life as a Oppo BDP-83 that was then very heavily modified and had large sections completely rebuilt.
