The guy in the store I spoke to tells me they don't have any Wireworld USB is stock but they can get them in. He then goes on to say "but just use any USB cable, its only transmitting data so just use a cheap cable - they all sound the same".

I'm about to receive a DAC and have my first go at hooking a computer to it. I agree in "theory" a USB cable transmits 1's and 0's only so it should make no difference to sound, but that's what I first thought about analogue cables and despite any logical explanations, and I can hear the difference there.

I dont think this guy should be working in an Audio store because he sure isnt doing Wireworld and favours?
You shouldn't buy a USB 3.0 cable if you only have a 2.0 device. The physical connector on the 3.0 cable is different.

I don't really want to get into it, but I respectfully disagree with your theory regarding digital cables. I will only say that a number of members here use upgraded digital cables with very good results.
