The wreck is decaying at an pretty rapid rate. This judge was convinced that the Marconi is of significant historical value and so she has authorized its salvage.

It's also worth noting that the company that has the salvage rights was recently purchased out of bankruptcy so if they can get their hands on this it would prove to be a nice score to make the purchase worthwhile. Lousy reason to raid the wreck IMO especially since it's a grave site.

I can see both points of view on this, but if that Marconi shows up for sale via some auction house than we'll know it was profiteering at its most base level.
