Compared to the Wilson's and Aerial's I had the PL500's are neutral to "my ears." Although the same room, to be fair both the Wilson's and Aerial's were with very different equipment.
So I had the opportunity to listen to the Monitor Audio PL500 mk2 in my own room for 2 weeks, thanks to generous efforts made by the MA Importer and my dealer, for free. As expected I found MA 500 considerable better sounding than at the dealer's shop, thankfully, also as I have a preference for a tube pre and ss power amp as at my home. Holographic, controlled, extended, lots of layers, detailed, open, naturalness comes in my mind to describe the sound. Built quality is second to none and the speaker has a splendour appearance. The combined virtues and the way they are exposed made me placed to order my pair, delivery planned later this month. I am very happy with this, as I have heard many beautiful speakers, most however, in the end, didn't make it for me. An enjoyable but not easy journey has come at an end, for at least this moment.
