Several of us at RMAF last year were extremely impressed with the Vimbergs driven by Tidal electronics and I would say it's one of the best sounding speakers I've ever heard for the price. I don't know how much experience any of our forum members have with either lines, but so far reviews of the Vimbergs have been overwhelmingly positive. John Atkinson reviewed the Tidal Akira Loudspeaker and was pretty much blown away by what he heard (as he should've been for the $215,000 price tag).
Anyway, this will be the place to put your comments and impressions if there are any with any experiences. Some pics to follow.

I carefully read that review some time ago and was unimpressed. JA is good at measuring loudspeakers but as a reviewer, I think he should stick to measuring. The measurements of that loudspeaker showed a very deficient bass response for a 215,000 speaker. I remember thinking he would classify it A which he did despite its woefully lacking below 30 Hz measured bass response.
"The Akiras have less upper-bass energy than the Wilsons, and while they excite the lowest-frequency mode in my room to a similar degree, their low-bass output rolls off below the frequency of that room mode, whereas the Wilsons offer a lot more output between 15 and 30Hz."
With a big speaker I expect bass in spades. I wouldn't have that speaker based on JA's measurements.
