I'm no apologist for Tiger Woods and he doesn't need me to defend him, but his three victories in 2012 and five in 2013, in prestigious events against strong fields, disprove the assertion that he was finished by his personal scandals and apparently supercharged libido. His downturn in 2014 was clearly health related and culminated in back surgery, a precarious situation for anyone, let alone an athlete competing against the best in the world.
Whether you love him or hate him, his saga has been fascinating to watch, even if these days the fascination is more akin to being unable to avert your eyes from a grisly accident.
