I hear ya.

CD's are great because they are both Physical Media and Digital Media. So you can either choose to have them on the shelf or the Hard Drive.

I play CD's stored on my computer in my iTunes library and when I screw things up (rarely does a hard disk fail), I reload the CD.

As far a playback. I jump and skip albums and tracks, or even make playlists in lest then half of second with CDs (Stored Digitally or in the Changer) Which is the distinct advantage over other physical formats, withholding the subjective sound.

I would love the return to Album oriented music, where all the songs are part of the album and gel with one another--see AOR Genre for an example-- Plus Purchased albums are greater sales than purchased tracks (*stomp stomp- Music Industry are you listening.)
