power conditioner
yes, a high quality conditioner is a must. It will benefit your whole system. The power supply in 808 functions differently than a dedicated power conditioner. The power supply of 808 is to supply enough power and headroom for playback and also stabilize incoming voltage from wall plug. (from what I know, the power supply in all Burmesters also have filters to filter out some noise matching those model's specifications)
The power condition, on the other hand, depending on different models works with different philosophies to clean up power.
The 948 does the following things. (just what I know for sure)
- get rid of direct current
- supplying power that is smooth with perfect sine wave by phase correction
