That would make sense, especially in the absence of another explanation. Kimber braids their TC speaker cables; the 12TC is 8 AWG, which I imagine would be much stiffer in a single cable run. So the principle seems to have merit for conducting a musical signal, and it may apply to power transfer/filtering as well. I know the 3 braids are referred to as "poles." The geometry may yield other benefits as well, but I can't think of them the top of my head, not being that technical. Perhaps Audioquest would answer the question if you put it to them.
