Firewire I am the same way. I dont let any cables touch each other. I either use zip ties nailed to various areas on the back of my custom made equipment shelf/rack or gorilla tape to help keep them from touching each other. I use a sleeving that looks like techflex but reduces emi/rfi so if the tape causes any static it will be nullified by the extra emi/rfi sleeving I put over all my cables. I am still in the early years of my hifi journey but I learned from the beginning to wrap all my cables in the emi/rfi shielding to reduce static and noise. I have only one long run of speaker cable ran on carpet but it has a copper braided shield used as a sleeve over the whole cable. Its being replaced with a better emi/rfi shielding sleeve.
