Congrats on those Maggies! Instead of a tape measure I use a Bosch GLM 15 laser measure. Much better and easier. Not expensive from a hardware store. The bass panels should be about 1" closer than the tweeter is the current recommendation I believe. I found that worked very well with the 3.7i's.

Also in Jim Smith's book Get Better Sound, page 115-116 he says tilt the speakers forward so that the middle of the drivers are at 90 degrees to your ear height. That's hard to visualize, but the picture in the book makes it clear. He goes on to say "If the speaker is tall the sound will be arriving from the lower portion of the panel ahead of the sound from the upper section of the panel. Slight smearing of the sound will result." He goes on to say how to get the forward angle right using a mirror. I had the 3.7i's on Mye stands and was able to obtain taller threaded points for the back of the stand to tilt the panels forward.
